
This institution has been established under the auspices of the well known
largest non-government educational body, The DAV College Managing
Committee. The committee is the executing body of the DAV College Trust and
Management Society, which was founded in 1885 to commemorate the ideas and
principles of Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati. The DAV College Managing
Committee conducts the day to day affairs of the DAV Trust and Management
Society and controls the administration and finance of the institutions run by it. It,
being the nerve centre, formulates policies, plans and procedures to shape the
destiny of the DAV network.
The main aim of establishing the DAV
College Trust and Management Society was to setup
temples of learning i.e. schools and colleges to give a practical shape to the ideals
of Swami Dayanand’s educational philosophy which aims to develop a modern
scientific approach among the students, coupled with an understanding of their
roots in the ancient Vedic Culture. Today, the DAV College Trust and
Management society has the unique distinction of running
more then 700 educational
institutions spread across the country imparting quality education at the
primary, secondary, graduate and post graduate levels in all disciplines including
Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Pharmacy and Ayurveda among others. All these
institutions are known for the highest level of dedication, sincerity, commitment
and discipline. There is a sustained
endeavour to provide the best quality of
education with a difference, simultaneously taking due care of creating a scientific
and positive way of thinking among its students.
The DAVCMC has always emphasized on developing and nurturing an
education system in the country to produce skilled manpower of the highest

the complex needs of the economy and provide the nation a comparative
advantage in the creation and propagation of innovative technological solution.
DAV College of Engineering and Technology (DAVCET), Kanina was
established in 2002 in the rural and comparatively backward area of south
