| To realize the dream of Maharishi Dayanand a group of enlightened, dedicated and devoted followers with a deep sense of self denial, founded the Dayanand Anglo Vedic College trust and Management Society which was registered in 1886.The DAV College Trust and Management Society takes pride in the fact that it is the largest non-governmental educational organization in India managing a chain of

Model schools . It covers,
the entire spectrum of
educational activity in the
country. DAV has established a reputation for academic excellence and character building. Every year thousands of students pass out of these institutions and distinguish themselves in various national and international platforms. The society has, as its alumni, distinguished jurists, diplomats, doctors, engineers, scientists, educationists, literary figures and sportsmen. The DAV Alumni have made their mark in every sphere of life. Notable amongst them are Ex–Prime Ministers Sh. Atal Bihari Vaajpayee and Sh.I.K.Gujral, Ex-Chief justice of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India Sh M.M.Punchi, mesmerizing singer Sh. Jagjit Singh, the heart beat of millions Shahrukh Khan, Lion of Cricket Sh. Kapil Dev and the present Prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to name a few. |
Padambhushan G.P. Chopra, President, DAVCMC, New Delhi (Chairman)
He is an eminent educationist who was awarded “Padma Bhushan” by the Govt. of India in 2010 for his total involvement to the cause of education and literature and “Padam Shree” in 1999 among others. He is a Distinguished Fellow for Unity of Religions and Enlightened Citizenship (FUREC). He has contributed greatly to the development and establishment of DAV Schools & Colleges. He has also made significant contribution to social reforms and relief to the downtrodden as President of ‘Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha’, ‘Nehru Bal Samiti’ and several other organizations. He has always motivated masses to perform stupendously to help suffering humanity in the moment of crises.

Mr. Justice R.N. Mittal, Vice President, DAVCMC, New Delhi (Member)
A product of DAV College, Lahore, Mr. Justice R.N.Mittal is a legal luminary of repute. He retired in 1988 as Acting Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. He also served the nation as the President of Consumer Disputes Redressel Commission, New Delhi.

A renowned entrepreneur, Sh.Vishwa Nath is a doyen of book publishing of the country. He is a distinguished philanthropist and social worker. He is an Ex-President of the Federation of Indian Publishers. He is also an editor of a monthly journal of DAV “Aryan Heritage.”

A physician of international fame, Dr. C. Prakash received a large number of orations and awards in the field of Medical Education and Nephrology. He served as physician to the President of India and Hony. Consultant in Medicine to Armed Forces.

Sh.R.S.Sharma,Vice President, New Delhi (General Secretary)
An educationist of repute, Sh. R.S.Sharma, has a brilliant career in DAV fraternity as principal of various DAV Colleges. He retired from the post of the principal of DAV College Jalandhar in 1987. Sh. Sharma worked on various important administrative posts in various colleges and universities. He joined DAVCMC in 1991 and held various positions as Secretary and General Secretary before becoming Vice President.

Dr. Y.S. Rajan, VICE PRESIDENT, DAVCMC, New Delhi (Member)
A well-known luminary, Dr. Y.S.Rajan started his career in 1964 as a Research Scholar. He held many important positions in the Indian Space Research Organizations/Deptt. of Space. He is an elected member of the International Aeronautical Academy. He served as an advisor in Deptt. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India during July 1988-Aug1996 and as Executive Director, Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council. Dr. Rajan Co-authored the book- India-2020 and is also a close associate of President of India. Jain Vishva Bharati Institute, Ladnun, and Rajasthan bestowed him with the degree of Doctor of Letters. Presently, he is working as Principal Advisor, Confederation of Indian Industry.

Dr. S.K. Sama, Vice President, DAVCMC, New Delhi (Member)
Dr. Sama has a long association with DAV Institutions starting from his schooling from DAV School at Rawalpindi and then at Lahore. He has been closely associated with the Arya Samaj. He is a physician of International repute. He is a specialist in Endoscopy and Gastro-enterology and has been attending conferences and workshops in most countries of the World like U.K., U.S.A., Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Hong-Kong, Singapore, Spain, Italy, Austria etc. Dr. Sama is Honorary Physician to the President of India. He is chairman, Board of Management, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, and it is his dedicated efforts that have made this Hospital among the best. It is because of his outstanding services in the field of Medical Science that he was honored with "Padma Shree" by the Government of India. Dr. Sama has won a large number of other awards also.

Shri T.N. Chaturvedi, Vice President, DAVCMC, New Delhi (Member)
Shri T.N. Chaturvedi’s brilliant and multi-facet career as a civil servant, parliamentarian and as an intellectual has spanned for nearly six decades. He began his career as a civil servant by joining the Indian Administrative Service in 1950 and held such crucial assignments as Chief Secretary, Delhi, Chief Commissioner, Union Territory of Chandigarh and later as Secretary to Government of India in the Ministry of Education and Culture, Sports, Home Affairs, etc. He resigned from the IAS in 1984, was appointed soon after to the constitutional post of Comptroller and Auditor General of India. Subsequently, Shri Chaturvedi was elected to Rajya Sabha in 1992 and again in 1998. He resigned from Rajya Sabha to take over as Governor of Karnataka. He has been associated for long with a number of educational, cultural, literary, spiritual, social and charitable institutions in different capacities. He was elected as a member of the Executive Board of UNESCO in 2000. He has been Fellow (1959-60) of the Economics Development Institute of the World Bank. Shri Chaturvedi was conferred with an honorary Doctorate by Lal Bahadur Shastri Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, New Delhi for his contribution to the public affairs. He has authored two books and also has edited many more. He was awarded Padma Vibhushan by the President of India for his contribution to public affairs.

Dr. N.K. Uberoi, Vice President, DAVCMC, New Delhi (Member)
An eminent educationist, former Principal of Hans Raj College, Delhi, former Director of Centre for Professional Development in Higher Education, Delhi University, formerly Dean and Joint Director of Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad and associated with various social and educational institutions. He had his Postdoctoral training in the Universities at USA and UK and has taught and carried out research at these universities. He was till recently the Senior Consultant at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala and presently he is Management Advisor to International Management Institute. He is the former Chairman of the Governing Body of Lady Irwin College and had been working on various committees of UGC, IGNOU and a member of Board of Governors of top Management
Institutions. He has won many Honours, Awards and Fellowships viz Ford Foundation Fellowship Awardee, Fulbright Awardee, British Council Visitorship Awardee, Professorial Fellow, Manchester Metropolitan University (UK), Best Teacher Award (2003) by Association of Indian Management Schools. He was designated as a Fellow of IUPAC in 2005.
He has authored many books, research papers in national and International Journals, and articles in Hindustan Times and Business Standard. He has been the editor of UGC Series on "Professional Competencies in Higher Education" and edited IMT Series of Monographs on subjects like Management, Corruption and Corporate Governance.

Shri J. K. Kapur, Secretary, DAVCMC, New Delhi (Member)
Born in 1938, done MA (Economics) from Delhi School of Economics. Joined Hans Raj College, Delhi as Lecturer in Economics in July 1962. Later appointed as Vice-Principal in June 1986 and finally as Principal in 1992. Retired in December 2003. Had been actively associated with NCERT, NOS and CBSE and worked on formulation and revision of syllabus, writing of Text books, teaching manuals, orientation programs, etc., visited China, Russia, Korea and Singapore.

A well-known educationist, has been associated with the DAV's since 1947 as a student, a teacher and a Principal. A gold medalist of Delhi University as a student of Hans Raj College, former member of Advisory Committee on Curriculum Changes in Mathematics and Science, NCERT, former member of the Governing Council of DPEP, Govt. of India, retired in April 2000 from P.G. DAV College New Delhi as Principal, a staunch Arya Samajist Born at Sialkot (now in Pakistan), has travelled to U.S.A., U.K., Iran etc.

He has been Chairman of the Examination Reforms Committee of Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jalandhar and has been an active member of the different other committees of PTU like Academic Council, Admission Committee, Standing Committee, Cultural & Sports Committee. He has visited various world-renowned organizations in USA such as Rsoft Design Group, COMPU Aire, Intel Corporation etc. and also has visited various other countries like U.K., France, China, and Thailand etc. He is the author of a number of widely acclaimed Civil Engg. books.
He is honorary treasurer of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha, Punjab. In recognition of his services to the society, “The India International Friendship Society” bestowed upon him “Bharat Gaurav Award” in the year 1997. DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi, has also bestowed him with Best Principal Award in the year 2005. In 2006, Rotary Club conferred upon him the award for Vocational Excellence.
