About Library
The DAVCET Library collectively supports the teaching, research and extension
programmes of the Institute. All students and faculty members of the Institute are entitled
to make use of the Library facilities on taking library membership. The Library, besides
having a huge collection of books on engineering, science and humanities offers library
services through its various Divisions. Initially setup in 2002 in Academic Block
(Drawing Hall), the Library was shifted to Knowledge Development Centre in 2006 after
being inaugurated by our honourable CM, Sh. Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
Our goal
To provide a collection of books and other reading material of all related subjects to
develop a comprehensive collection of information required for teaching and reference
purpose to meet the present and future needs of its users.
Library Computerization
The Library uses LIBSYS software package which is an integrated multi-user library
management system that supports all in-house operations of the Library. The software
consists of modules on acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, serials, article indexing and
OPAC, set up, tables and utilities. Retrospective conversion of bibliographic records is in
process. Bibliographic records of books available in the Library can now be accessed
through the campus OPAC. The database of books available in the Library is being
updated on day to day basis with details of recently acquired books. The editing and
updating activities are in progress.
Bar Code-based Circulation System
The system is in process of generating barcodes for books & members of library. The
same will be successfully implemented for the circulation activities, by using the barcode.

Digital Library
Online access to the e-resource of the Digital Library portals of Springer Link. These e-resources
are IP enabled, can be accessed anywhere in the campus.
The Digital content can be accessed in LAN environment with in the campus via proper
IP address.

Internet facility is also available in Library.
